The Story

The Pant

THE PANT were “born” on September 28th, 1996 in Břidličná/Nothern Moravia/Czech Republic. The first line-up: Luboš Tesař (guitar), Pepa Šustr (drums) and Roman Kočiřík (bass and vocals). In the years to come the band have gradually developed their own style – an “orthodox” hard rock.

In May 1997 their very first concert in “Na Čtverce Club” in Uničov took place followed by several regional shows. In the autumn of 1997 the band recorded four songs to offer to various music clubs, publishers, promoters etc. In the spring of 1998 the trio participated in the “ROCK MADE IN GAMBRINUS” contest. The band then cooperated with GANG ALIEN from Jeseník. In the autumn of 1998 they signed a contract with Petr Janda (doyen of Czech rock music) and BEST I.A record label and a single called “28. SEPTEMBER 1996” was released as a part of a compilation album “CZECH ROCK SELECTION 99”. At the beginning of 1999 THE PANT had worked hard on new songs and signed a contract with MUSIC BOX CS AGENCY. Two new songs “MONEY!” and “PLAY IT LOUD” were released on a heavy metal compilation “PLAY IT LOUD”. During that summer the band played several concerts in music clubs as well as festivals. At the end of 1999 six new songs were recorded in NS AUDIO studio in Šternberk and a debut MC “…A LONG WAY…” was released containing two bonuses from “PLAY IT LOUD”. The “MIDNIGHT RIDER” single became a part of the “FAJN ROCK MUSIC, VOL.5” compilation and the band went on a “ROCK ON THE ROAD” tour in May and June 2000 together with GANG ALIEN.

Band Review

The band celebrated their 15th anniversary in 2011. They´ve played more than 600 live shows since their beginning. In 2000 they played, together with DARYL GREEN, at prestigious live clubs Malostranská beseda and Rock Café in Prague. The editor´s office of Big Bang! Weekly chose THE PANT to play at the Czech´s biggest festival Rock For People in Český Brod. In September 2000 they appeared at the International Music Festival “Muzika 2000” at Prague Výstaviště Exhibition Grounds. In June 2001 they participated in the “Noc plná hvězd/Night Packed With Stars” Festival in Třinec/Northern Moravia. Fajn Rock Music Agency provided them gigs at live clubs Lávka-Karlovy Lázně/Prague and Bunkr Brothers in Mělník/Central Bohemia. All in all THE PANT have kept their game rocking at festivals and clubs countrywide. During 2002 the band started building their own recording studio and prepared for their second studio album. Between 2003 and 2004 they gave a very few regional shows concentrating mainly on finishing their recording studio. In March 2004 things had turned positive at last and their new album “ON THE ROAD AGAIN” was released. A huge celebration in Bruntál´s Africa Pub with their fans followed and the band went on the road again enjoying very positive responses both at summer festivals and motorbike rallies countrywide.

In 2005 the founding member Luboš Tesař left the band “temporarily ” and was replaced by Víťa Jelínek, a guitar virtuoso and multiinstrumentalist from Bruntál. He fitted in perfectly and the band went on the road again. The 2005 tour proved to be very successful and the trio started preparing for a new album. Another personal change took place in 2005: Tomáš Vaca – a new drummer – joined he band. It took six months of hard work in the studio and THE PANT released their third album “STRAIGHT WAY TO HELL” – the hardest stuff they have released by then. The album enjoyed very positive responses both from the music reviewers and their fans and the band got their hard rock ball rolling during a European Tour that took them from Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Austria as far as Belorussia. On top of that they once again played their show at prestigious Czech festivals “Night Packed With Stars” and “Rock For People” or at the MUZIKA Music Fairs. The new album and new line-up have paved their way to perform in live broadcastings and recording video-clips at the Czech TV and Óčko TV.

At the end of 2008 The Pant recorded their debut DVD and went on tour in music clubs countrywide. One year later, their first single was released in the USA having worldwide distribution, and their new album “LOUDER!” again enjoyed positive reviews. THE PANT regularly participated in genre contests making it into the final round of Czech METALGATE MASSACRE and even becoming an overall winner of the ROCKARENA contest in 2011. Celebrating their 15th anniversary together with the Czech´s metal legend Arakain finds the band in the best shape ever. They are presently mastering their second live DVD which will be released by the end of 2011.
